The last days  we all feel like making lists. Music we love. Things we achieved. People we lost. Prices we won. This is my personal looking-back-at-the-end-of-the-year list: My favourite looks of 2012! 

Sometimes when I don't know what to wear I look back at the pictures and get inspired by my own closet. Which look is your favourite? And what lists are you making? 

Below, my fashionmisstakes... Looks like I made one every month! :) Sometimes it's not the outfit - I love my blue Jimmy Choo and the cute floral dress! -  but the bad quality of the picture. Sometimes it's the combination - that denim vest is so cool and there's nothing wrong with the grey/blue stretch skirt... - that didn't went well. And sometimes, sometimes it's just wrong..! ;)

Life: Diary 51

A Christmas diary. This is what you're looking at: 

Family diner at Christmas day, all made by my boyfriends mother // another beer? ;) the boyfriend and I having one too many partying in Enschede on monday // my best friend Desiree's cat, a real beauty! // my boyfriend and his nephew in front of the Christmas tree. I love this picture, so lovely and warm! // Jessica and I toasting, Christmas diner with my girlfriends on saturdaynight // Serious Request. I had so much fun last monday, and the action has raised over 12 million for the babies! respect! // my friend Irene had to go to the hospital for appendicitis, when I visited her on fridaynight she treated me on sushi, yum! an early Christmasdiner... :)

In Holland we've got a 2nd Christmas day, and for me that means the 3th family breakfast with the boyfriends fam, a 3 hour trip home and a lazy evening on the couche, with good food, Top 2000 and a movie. I wear something less dressed up, still nice with the skirt and the blazer, but more focused on relaxing. I love this tee, it's yet another cat ♥, the heartshaped red nose is from felt and real soft. Bought for only €5,- on sale! 

Today I've another day off from work. Time to clean the house and rest from busy days. Had the most wonderful Christmas time! With my own parents far away, or not in touch, I appreciate the time with my boyfriends family even more. And not forget about the pre-Christmas diners with my friends on friday- and saturdaynight. Life's good at the moment! The scale says +2 kg by now, but that I take for granted. On to New Year Eve!

Vrolijk kerstfeest!

Outfit: Let's hear it for the babies

The day before Christmas it's 'kerstmiddag' in Twente, the region where my boyfriend is from. It's like 'de 4-daagse' in Nijmegen, or 'Leidens ontzet' at oct 3th, or like queensday allover the country. Crowded bars during the day, streets full of party people wearing Christmas hats with flashing lights. Pass out drunk by 8 PM... ;) 

At least, that's what I've been told. This year is the first year I'm gonna join this feast. And I'm wearing this outfit. I'm all about blue lately and thought this top with all the glitter is very Christmas-ish also! Comfy at the same time, so I can safely stroll the streets of Enschede!

Besides the fact that my boyfriend grew up there, there's an extra reason to go to Enschede before Christmas: Serious Request. Every year 3 DJ's lock themselfs up in a glass house, in a different city every year, and won't eat for a week. They play music in shifts, 24/7. It's an ongoing party around the glass house, it's on radio and TV and most important: people request records and donate money for charity. This year's theme is "Let's hear it for the babies". The good cause: Red Cross and their fight against unnecessary infant mortality.   So for this Christmas afternoon:

Counting down the days 'til Christmas...! 

One of the things I love about Christmas is dressing up. Everybody's at their best, looking stunning in their favourite party dress. A perfect occasion to buy a new dress... which I will hardly ever wear again. So this year I decided (my savings acount for my great journey is not growing as fast as I had hoped) to not buy anything and search my closet for an 'old' dress. And I soon found this one, I think it's as close to perfect as a Christmas look can get! It's sexy, but classy. It's glittering, but not too shiny. It's festive, but not too bare. In the perfect case I'd wear heels with it, but since we're staying in all day I choose flats. No painful knees, the ease while playing with the kids, not stumbling while serving the food and not being taller than my boyfriend are reasons enough to go leave the high heels behind. :)

jumper - H&M trend, jeans - H&M &denim, sneakers - New Balance

From the day I've spotted this jumper in Granada on sale, I regret that I did not bought it. My boyfriend was tired of shopping, so we decided to walk on. There would be much more shopping in the next town and I'd find that jumper later on and than I could buy it.

Never found it again. Different H&M stores. No TREND collection.

But back in town it wasn't on sale and the full price was way out of my budget. And a warm wollen jumper was the only thing missing in my closet! 

But last thursday, after nagging about it for 2 months, there it was. The jumper. On sale! I called my boyfriend, outrageously happy, rushed to the fitting room, and bought it. There was not enough money on my  account for a purchase like this, so I used a bit of my savings.

I tied myself into knots to got it. And now it's mine. Yaay?

(Temporary rush, feeling guilty afterwards. I think I'm in shopping rehab!)

As you know, I'm a huge cat lover. I've got 3 cats myself. One is a real alley, always outside. She's gone for days, sometimes for weeks. The other 2 - the white ones - are brother and sister and real affectionate. They're madly in love with my boyfriend. As soon as he set foot in my house they're all over him! ♥

I never deliberately went looking for a white cat, but it's no secret that - by now - I really have a thing for 'm! Just like Karl Lagerfelt in the first picture with his great love Choupette.

I love the combination of high waist skinny jeans and a large (faux fur) vest. With the right boots it creates an outfit where casual and chic are in good balance. Great for work and for fun!

Are you up for the holidays yet? I can't wait, so many nice plans with my loved ones! Christmas diner with my girlfriends on saturday, party on Christmas Eve at my boyfriends hometown and family time with his family on Christmas day. But first four more days at work... which will be softened by the large Christmas tree in the lobby and an extensive Christmas lunch on Thursday. :) It's the most wonderful time of the year!

I got this dress like forever and worn it in a million ways. Sporty, with thick tights and black Allstars. Dress-up, with booties and a waistbelt. And today all buttoned up, in line with this years trend. I often leave the buttons open, out of automatism, but this trend is really worth following. It gives this checked oversized blouse something neat.

2012 is an important year in Dutch fashion history, 2012 is the year Vogue came to The Netherlands! For this saturday some beautiful pictures from Vogue all around the world. With i.a. our beautiful Doutzen in Vogue UK and the first Dutch Vogue cover ever!

These ballerina flats are new in. I was thinking about investing in a good pair of flats for quite a time now. I always buy the cheap ones, but after wearing 'm a few times they are worn out. Or hurt my knees. 

So although my intention NOT to buy clothes - or shoes, or bags - to save all my money for my big journey, I had to buy these when I found out they were on sale (50% off!) online! They're 100% leather and have a solid sole. Let's hope they last a long time!  

This blouse is an oldie but a goodie. Fall in love with it every time I see it. And ofcourse that's because of the hearts. And the cute collar. Makes my heart beat faster!
